The Bundesliga is looking for a buyer for television rights.


According to the Financial Times, the Bundesliga has been negotiating with investment funds for more than three months to manage commercial and television rights to matches. It is planned to sell a minority stake in the newly formed structure in order to raise money to finance league analyzed by handball predictions clubs.


Currently, 5 investors are vying for the purchase of TV rights. Sixth Street, an American investment company that participated in the refinancing of Real Madrid and Barcelona, may also join the fight. In particular, Sixth Street helped the Catalans activate two economic levers in the summer of 2022. The company bought 25% of TV rights revenue from Barca for 25 years.


Negotiations over the Bundesliga`s TV rights are scheduled to resume on Wednesday. The Bundesliga estimates the value of the rights at EUR18 billion. Through the sale of a 25% stake, it is planned to raise 4. 5 billion euros.
